Noah’s Family
Genesis 6:1-9:28
1 And it was that the ADAM to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them. 2 The sons of the ELOHIM saw the daughters of the ADAM, that they were beautiful; and they took them for themselves wives from all those whom they chose. 3 And Yahweh said, “My breath shall not strive with the ADAM forever in their erring; he is flesh; and his days shall be 120 years.”
4 There were the fallen ones on the earth in those days, and also afterwards when the sons of the ELOHIM came to the daughters of the ADAM and they bore children to them. They were heroes who existed from ancient time, the men of the name.
5 And Yahweh saw that the Ra’ of the ADAM was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only Ra’ all day long. 6 And Yahweh regretted that He had made the ADAM on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart.
7 And Yahweh said, “I will wipe off the ADAM whom I have created from the face of the ground, from the ADAM and large animals, to the smaller animals and the winged flying creatures of the Skies, for I regret that I made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.
9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah, a TZIDIQ ISH, who had been perfected among his peers; Noah made himself walk with ELOHIM. 10 And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Yaphet. 11 And the earth was like spoiled meat before the ELOHIM, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And ELOHIM saw the earth, and behold it was spoiled meat; for all flesh had spoiled their path on the earth.
13 And ELOHIM said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I will spread a flood over them – over the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of cypress timbers; you shall make rooms in the ark; and you shall cover it inside and outside with asphalt. 15 And this is how you shall make it: 450 feet long; 75 feet wide; 45 feet high. 16 A window you shall make in the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above. And you shall set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third stories.
17 And even I, behold, I, am bringing the flood of waters upon the earth, to spoil all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the Skies; everything that is on the earth shall die. 18 And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark — you, and your sons, and your woman, and women of your sons with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind, you shall bring into the ark to keep them alive with you; they shall be a male and a female. 20 From the winged flying creature after its kind, and from the large animal after its kind, from every small creature of the ground after its kind, two from each shall come to you to keep alive. 21 And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and let it be food for you and for them.” 22 And Noah did all that ELOHIM commanded him, so he did.
7:1 And Yahweh said to Noah, “You come, and all of your house, into the ark, because of you I have seen TZIDIQ before Me in this generation. 2 From every clean large animal you shall take to yourself by sevens each of every clean animal, a male and his female; and of large animal that is not clean it is by two, a male and his female. 3 And of the winged flying creatures of the Skies, by sevens, a male and a female, to keep alive seed upon the face of all the earth. 4 For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe away from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” 5 And Noah did according to all that Yahweh commanded him.
6 Noah was 600 years; and the flood was waters on the earth. 7 Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of winged flying creatures, and of everything that moves on the earth. 9 Two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as ELOHIM had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth.
11 In the 600 year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great Deep were broken up, and the windows of Skies were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Yapheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark. 14 They and every wild animal after its kind, all large animals after their kind, every moving thing that moves on the earth after its kind, and every winged flying creature after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went in to Noah into the ark, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those going in, male and female of all flesh, went in as ELOHIM had commanded him; and Yahweh shut the door behind him.
17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth; and all the high mountains under the whole Skies were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: winged flying creatures and large animals and wild animals and every small moving animal that moves upon the earth, and all the ADAM.
22 All which breathed the breath of life, in whose nostrils of all that was upon the dry land, died. 23 And every living thing was destroyed which was on the face of the ground: from the ADAM to large animals, to the smaller animals, and the winged flying creatures of the Skies, they were wiped from the earth. And only Noah was left and the ones who were in the ark with him. 24 And the waters were mighty on the earth 150 days.
8:1 And ELOHIM remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the large animals which were with him in the ark. And ELOHIM made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. 2 And the fountains of the deep stopped, and the windows of the Skies; and the rain was restrained from the Skies. 3 And the waters retreated from the earth, going and retreating; and the water diminished at the end of 150 days.
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters were going and falling until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. 6 And it was at the end of forty days; and Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. 7 And he sent out the raven; and it went out, going out and returning until the waters were dried from the earth. 8 He also sent out the dove from him, to see if the waters had receded from off the face of the earth. 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of all the earth. And he put out his hand and took her, and pulled her to him into the ark.
10 And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out from out of the ark. 11 And the dove came to him in the evening. And behold, there was in her mouth a newly plucked olive leaf! And Noah knew that the waters had receded from off the earth. 12 And he waited yet another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore.
13 And it was in the 601 year, at the beginning on the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed, the face of the earth was dried.
14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
15 And ELOHIM spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and wives of your with you. 17 Every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, of winged flying creatures, of large animals, and of small animal moves on the earth, bring out with you ; and let them swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
18 And Noah went out; his sons and his wife and wives of his sons with him. 19 And Every living thing that moves and winged flying creature and all which moves upon the earth; after their families, they went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean animal and of every clean winged flying creature, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And Yahweh smelled the soothing fragrance, and Yahweh said in His heart, “I will not curse again the ground for the ADAM, because the thought of the Adam’s heart is Ra from his youth; for I will not again strike every living thing as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
9:1 And ELOHIM blessed Noah and his sons. And He said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on all the animals of the earth, and on every winged flying creature of the Skies; on all that moves on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea; into your hands they are given. 3 Every moving thing which is alive for you; shall be food; even as the green plant I have given you all things. 4 But flesh with its life, its blood, you shall not eat. 5 And surely the blood of your lives I will demand, at the hand of every animal I will demand it; and at the hand of the ADAM, at the hand of every ISH’s brother I will demand the life of the ADAM. 6 “Whoever sheds the ADAM’s blood, by the ADAM his blood shall be shed; for in the image of ELOHIM He made the ADAM. 7 And you shall be fruitful and multiply: swarm over the earth and multiply on it.”
8 And ELOHIM spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying: 9 “Even I, behold I, am establishing My covenant with you, and with your seed after you. 10 And with every living soul creature which is with you, among the winged flying creatures, and among the large animals, and among every animal of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every living animal of the earth. 11 I have established My covenant with you, and all flesh shall not be cut off again by the waters of the flood; nor shall there ever be again a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And ELOHIM said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I am about to give between your and Me, and every living soul creature which is with you, for everlasting generations. 13 I have set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 And when I gather clouds on the earth, then the bow shall be seen in the clouds, and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living soul in all flesh; and the waters shall not again be for flooding to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it to remember the everlasting covenant between ELOHIM and every living soul in all flesh which is on the earth.” 17 And ELOHIM said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
18 And the sons of Noah went out of the ark Shem, Ham, and Yaphet. And Ham, is the father of Canaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noah, and from them was overspread the whole earth.
20 And Noah began, an ISH of the ground, and planted a vineyard. 21 And he drank from the wine, and was drunk; and he was naked inside his tent. 22 And Ham saw, the father of Canaan, his father’s nakedness, and told to his two brothers outside. 23 And Shem and Yaphet took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, and they walked backwards and covered the nakedness of their father, their faces backward and their father nakedness they did not see.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.
25 And he said: “Cursed is Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers.” 26 And he said: “Blessed be Yahweh, the ELOHIM of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.
27 ELOHIM shall enlarge Yaphet, and he shall live in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be a slave to them.”
28 And Noah lived after the flood 350 years. 29 And all the days of Noah were 950 years, and he die.
