These exact words appear in the Babylonian Talmud (Berakhot 60b), which records the following prayer:
“Do not bring me into the hands of sin
or into the hands of a test, or into the hands of shame.”
The rabbinical prayer is virtually identical to what we find in the Hebrew version of Yeshua’s Prayer. The only difference is the words “us” and “me.” Christian readers of the Old Testament (Jewish Scriptures) are familiar with “divine tests.”
● Abraham was tested.
● Job was tested.
● The test of false prophets (Deuteronomy 13:1-4).
The wisdom principle here is: “No matter what, we keep our eyes on the path of the Creator, and we keep walking with Him.
Standards the Creator uses to measure human behaviors:
● Innocent: Those who protect lives, preserve lives, make lives more functional, and increase the quality of life.
● Guilty: Those who destroy lives, threaten lives, make lives less functional, and decrease the quality of life.
● Power: Humans are to only exercise Shepherding Power against other humans.
● Wisdom: Acts that create and maintain order.
